In 1989, when the Harvard Club of Pakistan was founded, the local Harvard Business School Alumni population was not large enough to warrant establishing a separate HBS Club. Instead, an HBS Club profile was maintained. Our activities include:

• Visits from various HBS faculty: former Dean John McArthur and Professor Samuel Hayes.
• Annual dinners to honor the achievements of HBS Alumni. Past recipients of this recognition include: Federal Ministers M/s. M. Altaf Saleem (OPM 16) and A. Razzaq Dawood (AMP 155) and M. P. Bhandhara (AMP 81), a National Assembly member.
• MBA and Executive Education information sessions.
• And various Alumni gatherings in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

As the local population began to increase, the need was apparent to formalize our activities as the Harvard Business School Club of Pakistan. The formalization of the Club created a means for HBS alumni in Pakistan to gather for social and intellectual enrichment while enhancing their connection to fellow alumni and the School.

The HBS Club in Pakistan formed a council to help establish the Club’s identity as an HBS entity. Today, the volunteer support we receive from local alumni allows us to continue hosting high quality alumni activities.
